General Notes:
He went homesteading to Iowa about 1866 and in 1875 to Sioux City. He is listed as Baptist in 1871 Census. He settled in Bushnell Illinois. He was separated from his wife. He died an elderly gentleman who with his friends were walking through a train yard. Benjamin walked between two cars at the moment the train pushed them together and it crushed him. There is a story he invented an air brake for trains but the information was stolen and he was swindled out of a fortune. Marriage-Potton Circuit, Methodist page F3
