He came early to Coos and was a grantee of Haverhill Nh but settled in Newbur
y. His farm was later owned by W.W. Brock jr. He built not far from 1780 the
house now known as the Davenport House in South Newbury. He and his son John
served as scouts in Capt. John G. Bayley's Co.
